About This Bathroom
A small West Chester primary bath that started with a cramped shower, with the walls and ceiling built out because the builders use just one shower pan size and frame in the walls to that, beige textured walls, and a pedestal sink with the plumbing exposed underneath. Tight footprint and an original layout that made it feel even tighter than it was.
The shower was the project. We pulled the soffits above and beside the original shower to claim back every inch, then framed and waterproofed a true walk-in shower with the Schluter system. White subway tile in a running-bond pattern keeps the small space reading clean; a recessed niche with decorative pattern tile gives the eye somewhere to land. A low pie shelf provides a spot to wash your feet or shave your legs.
The decorative pattern repeats on the floor — the move that ties the room together. White painted vanity with marble-look quartz, matte black hardware throughout, and a horizontal shiplap accent wall behind the vanity. Round matte black mirror, twin-bulb edison sconce, matte black drum pendant overhead.
