About This Kitchen
Three intentional twists on what would otherwise be a classic white kitchen. Each one is a design move that requires custom cabinetry — not a finish change you can order out of a catalog.
First twist: half-circle mullion glass doors on the upper cabinets flanking the range. Two intersecting curves inside a square frame, glowing at night with in-cabinet lighting. Most glass cabinets default to a vertical grid; this pattern is the kind of detail that only exists if someone drew it before the order went out.
Second twist: a pale powder-blue painted island base under a heavily veined Cambria quartz top. Pop-of-color islands are very current in West Chester right now, and the island-only version is easier to repaint for a future buyer than a fully blue kitchen. Third twist: a herringbone pewter metal tile accent behind the range, framed by a custom painted cabinet-style hood with an arched corbel detail. Pewter reads warmer than chrome and ties to the appliances. A dedicated coffee bar with a built-in dual-zone wine fridge sits in a separate run away from the cooking zone — designed for entertaining.
What we tell our clients about the half-circle mullion doors: this is a custom-cabinet move. Stock cabinet lines don’t offer it. The cost difference shows up here, in the room’s signature element — not in the boxes you can’t see.
